i have an unexpected financial concern or crisis, what do i do?
We are an ACTS 435 access point for people who are facing unexpected costs that might place them in a financial crisis situation. We may be able to help with small financial concerns, such as failed electrical appliances, clothing costs, heating and lighting costs, unexpected transport requirements.

The common theme with successful requests is the unexpected nature, and the level of urgency. If both are relevant reasons for the financial concern we can help. Go to our ACTS 435 page for further assistance.
I have lost my job because of coronavirus
Following announcements in the Budget, the Department for Work and Pensions is making temporary arrangements to support those impacted by coronavirus.

The Government's recent budget announcement gave out information for employees and self-employed people whose jobs are impacted significantly by the Coronavirus outbreak. You can find more information about this on the GOV.uk

We can help with the painful transition from work to benefits with support through our foodbank and Acts 435. Please use the contact for under 'Let us know who needs support'.

I THINK I CAN HELP WITH SUPPORTING

We would love to hear from you. Especially if you are already known to us at the church, through other partner organisation or through our worshipping life. You must be willing to do shopping runs, make phone calls to help those that might feel most isolated. Before we get going however we would ask that you to complete a volunteer form and provide two personal references.

We would love to have a chat with you about what you could help with. This could be volunteering at one of our frontline support services like Foodbank, or dropping off shopping for a friend, or having a chat with someone on the phone. If you are interested please complete the form below, read the volunteer job description, and complete the reference request. Thank you. It is the community that makes community!

I AM USED TO GOING TO CHURCH HOW CAN I STAY CONNECTED AT HOME?

This section outlines the resources that are currently available and new content that will be published in the days and weeks ahead for all to use at this time.
WHAT PRAYER RESOURCES ARE AVAILABLE TO ME?
The parish pastoral team will be producing prayer resources for those staying at home. As of 17th March 2020 all CofE public ceremony and worship services have been suspended. Over the next few weeks we'll try and keep people connected to what is available online, but also drop in printed copies of prayers, sermons and reflections for use at home.
Click on the buttons below to download the resources available.

Mothering Sunday Intercessions
Home Communion Service
If I am self-isolating can i receive home communion?
The answer is YES. We have a small team of pastoral ministers who can arrange a time to share home communion with you. However, this may not be possible in the usual way if you are self-quarantined due to contracting Covid-19, or if a household member is isolating for the same reasons. In this situation we can deliver a small portable Home Communion set that you can self-administer.
Instructions will be provided, liturgy and elements will also be included.

If you would like to receive Communion at home please call 01872 261944 to speak to Revd Jeremy Putnam and we can make the arrangements.

How do i stay in touch with what's happening in my church community?
We will still be sending our regular weekly emails with the notices sheet, collect prayers, readings and a copy of the weekly sermon. You'll also be able to access these from the front page of our website, and from our Facebook page.

We will also endeavour to share reflections and news from our facebook and website. If you would like a physical copy of the notice sheet delivered to you, as well copies of the weekly sermon then please speak to Jeremy 01872 261944 or email the church office on office@asht.org.uk and we will gladly arrange this
