Activities and Outreach
Thursday Club:
Meets most Thursday afternoons. It's mainly for the elderly. Often the club has visiting speakers, and occasionally an outing.
Tea-time Service:
On the third Sunday of every month at 4.00p.m. It lasts for half an hour, very informal and is enjoyed by people of all ages--- from 1 month to 100+years. It is followed by a shared tea.
Sunday School:
At 9.55am on the second and fourth Sundays. This is lead by a team of talented and enthusiastic teachers.
Carer's Group:
There is a real need in our area for a group to give support to people who care for loved ones. We have a group at All Saints. It is open to anyone in our area irrespective of any church affiliation. It meets in the church hall on the fourth Tuesday of each month between 2 - 4pm. We always have a relaxed chat over a cup of tea or coffee and biscuits.
Alpha courses:
We run these courses for adults, both from within the congregation and for people new to our church. Further information from the vicar.
Parenting Course:
These are popular courses run by Polly Smyth and Yvette Smith
"Stay and Play":
This is a mother and toddler group that meets from 9.30 every Wednesday morning in the church hall during school term times. If you have a toddler do come along for a chat and a cuppa!
Pastoral Visitors:
We have a team to visit the sick and housebound.
Homeless Meal:
We join in a rota of people from other churches in Truro to provide a cooked meal every Friday evening for the Homeless in Truro.
Truro Food Bank:
Our church supports this worthy venture by donating items of food, money and some of our members will work as volunteers in the distribution point. The Food Bank has a store of food which can be given to people who are experiencing particularly difficult times. This is based on the model pioneered by the Trussell Trust. For further information about the Truro Food Bank click here. In January 2010 the Foodbank store was relocated to our premises, and we opened a second distribution point from All Saints. By June 2010 over three hundred people have been supplied with food.
Street Pastors
Two members of our congregation are trained members of the team of Street Pastors, which patrols the streets of Truro on Saturday nights, in conjunction with local police. The service was launched just before Easter.
Christian Aid:
As well as collecting during Christian Aid Week, we have other fundraising and educational events during the year.
The Leprosy Mission:
We have regular fundraising events and order goods from their catalogue.
We support a number of charities both in this country and overseas.
We have links with projects and people in India and Zimbabwe.
Cornwall Worship:
Holds worship events twice a year in various places through Cornwall, which we support http://www.cornwallworship.org.uk/ See below:
